Weekend Update

B and P have the awesomest child ever. K and I spent much time chillin and rough housin, reading and pretending to be monsters, eating pizza rolls and blowing bubbles in the yard... it was awesome. Drove 600 miles in the rental car to get there, stay for 16 hours and then drove back, am tired zombie now... but happy. Had all kinds of grown up conversations about fiscal responsibility, the best way of categorizing sound files by genre, the varying experience of sleep deprivation in the modern age and the merit vs. inanity of Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Fun.

I am lucky to have friends who have been in my life for 10 years or more so that we are all making these transitions, learning and changing within the same basic contructs. It makes it less alienating or affected to be reading Old MacDonald Had A Farm with Hendrix in the background.

In other news, the lovely and wonderful L and M got married this weekend and by all accounts had a beautiful ceremony and much joy was experienced all around. R wrote to give me the scoop and let me know he expressed my regrets to the gang. Tax Season prevented me from making the trip and I was so sad to miss it.

Dane Cook is April 15th and I have 2 tickets and no date (although Dave C. is an enthusiastic back up). I was thinking of hosting a contest and posting something on MySpace that encouraged entries (as in: Send me a recent picture and 50 words about why I should take you to the show) but really, that's just kind of weird (and desperate, but mostly weird). I mean, do I really want to take some Randy Randamo to this thing? No. I’m in a pickle and feeling fickle if I had anemia it might be cell of sickle... word. Any suggestions?

Shout out to L for being my first Hello (free photo sharing software by Google) buddy. Y’all should definitely try this. It is great, free, easy and efficient. Oh, also of note this week, the Westcott House Pizza in West Warwick Rhode Island for serving exquisite stuffed quahogs served with a vat of hot sauce and also for having a section on their menu entitled “Awesome Sandwiches”. I am so home. I am wicked psyched.

Until later my dear friends. Once more into the breach!

Gary Gulman is way funnier than people are aware. He almost giggled me into paralysis last night. Seriously, there was pain in the jaw and a soreness in the belly. People should recognize. Word.

K and I are off this weekend to CT to see BP & L - yah. Been pretty lucky with the busy fun weekends - interpolating an otherwise downish kind of season for me. Spent last weekend touristing my own neighborhood with J. and found excellent photos, exquisite risottos and a cute rock and roll antique store shop-keep dude who bought himself the 8-Track of Physical Graffiti that I was considering buying (for $2 no less). I am in a good mood and it feels so novel : )

So much more to say but no time - must pickup rental car and begin descent into Southern New England. Should I blog more? Does anyone care? Is anyone on MySpace btw? I just got convinced to join and I want to have like a thousand friends so I can tell all my friends at D&D that I'm awesome. And that my dwarf can beat their wizard by sheer force of will.

I need help with the Hippo joke (Larry Miller). No one ever laughs - but I love it. Can it just be my secret love? Rewarding for an audience of one? Should I just keep telling it?

Oh, and I have 2 tickets to see Dane Cook on April 15th. I offered to take Gary Gulman, but I'm fairly certain that's not going to pan out... decisions decisions... more soon.

Late,
Kate
